Men of Grace

Women of Grace

Second Cup: 55+

A gathering of men and women age 55 and older that have a desire to be with Christians who like to travel, have an opportunity to be in a strength building exercise class, meet friends for breakfast or share a book or CD. There is a Mr. Fixit for home repairs and kids from Youth Group can help in the yard.  Our Parish Nurse helps where there is a need.  This group of "People Helping People" meets twice a month. Check the Bulletin Board for upcoming events. Email Betty for more info.

Grace Singles (40+)

A very interactive and friendly group focusing on our growth in our knowledge and in our faith in God our Father through our Sunday School class/bible study. We seek out ways to help others as Jesus instructed us to do, seek to provide social activities in a friendly and safe environment, and to provide friendship, support and encouragement for each other.

  • Sunday School Class/Bible Study: Room 123, 10:30AM Sunday mornings. A variety of Christian topics are presented and discussed using Scriptural references and material from Christian authors.
  • Outreach Activities: We prepare and serve dinner for the Helen B. Wright Center for Women (women’s shelter in downtown Raleigh) on the first Sunday evening of most months including picnics at Pullen Park in the summer (30-50 people). We also provide bibles and others items for the residents as needed. Other activities include a picnic for the Bela-Russian host families and guests (80+ people last year), work on Habitat homes, Duke Children’s Hospital on Thanksgiving Day, and a 3 day home repair work project with Appalachian Service Project in the mountains of Virginia.
  • Social Activities: Our 2nd Friday Dinner monthly at local restaurants (Michael Deans, Carrabba’s, etc. 20+ people), lunch on Sunday’s generally at Jason’s/Panera (5-12 people), bowling nights in Jan and Feb, NC State Univ. theater and dinner nights, Durham Bulls night and other activities as interest supports.
  • Contacts: For additional information and to be added to our email list: Jeff Stephens (jeffstnc@aol.com) - 848-1877 and Lynn Smiley (lcsmiley@earthlink.net) -- 676-6680.
